2010 NEW ISSUE OF DISCRIMINATION?
IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST MARIJUANA USERS!
Rosa Parks had no experience protesting unfair
and unequal treatment of colored (Black) Americans,
but she did just fine when, one day, she declared
that she wasn't sitting in the back of the bus anymore.
"Sexual harrassment lawsuits" (men using foul
language to a woman at work, touching her breasts,
slapping her butt and threatening to fire her if
she complained), as a form of discrimination
different than "sexual discrimination" (not being hired
or promoted because you were a woman), were not recognized
by any Federal Court until 1976. That's how long it took
one woman to overcome her shame and fear and seek
legal help.
2010 candidate Cris Ericson, recently tried to explain to two young women who currently
attend the same University she graduated from in 1976, about sexual
discrimination in the early 1970's and they just could not
comprehend or even believe behaviour like that occurred then.
Once someone told 2010 candidate Cris Ericson that she
had wasted her time complaining about
sexual discrimination in sports in college; and she said, "No, I didn't
waste my time because YOUR daughters can participate in those
sports now if they want to!"
Even though these issues were NEW to the Courts back then,
the underlying discriminating behaviour had actually existed long before
the lawsuits emerged raising the "new" legal causes of action.
Currently, hundreds of thousands of Americans are in jail or prison or
probation programs, at a cost of Billions to tax payers, for marijuana possession.
Their families are financially strapped for cash and cannot afford to contribute
to political campaigns; therefore, they have no "voice".
The "NEW" 2010 political issue, in particular being raised in
California where there is expected to be a referendum initiative
question on the November ballot to legalize and tax marijuana,
is that
we must demand Equal Treatment Under the Law
to NOT be prosecuted and punished
for using, growing or selling,
products and substances made from plants
that are equally as dangerous
or LESS dangerous
than other legal products and substances
made from plants
such as Alcoholic beverage products and Tobacco products.
People who are in favor of ending Marijuana Discrimation
(otherwise known as "Marijuana-Gate" or "Marijuana Prohibition")
should contribute to marijuana legalization candidates,
either with "in kind" donations (something of value
other than money that can be used to promote a campaign
like digital video cameras, computers, gas cards, pre-paid hotel rooms),
money or volunteer labor.
But, if you are inclined to donate to a candidate whose platform
includes legalizing marijuana, who are the best candidates?
The best candidates are NOT the ones who have "experience"
being an elected official!
Rosa Parks had no experience being an elected official when she
refused to ride on the back of the bus. SHE REPRESENTED AN
ISSUE IMPORTANT TO THE PEOPLE WITHOUT BEING ELECTED!
The woman who filed the first sexual harrassment lawsuit did not
have any experience being an elected official. She worked
at hard labor in a mine, and went home black and dirty every day.
SHE REPRESENTED AN ISSUE IMPORTANT TO THE PEOPLE
WITHOUT BEING ELECTED!
The best current candidates who are campaigning to make marijuana
legal HAVE NO PRIOR WORK HISTORY AS ELECTED OFFICIALS.
The framers of our U.S. Constitution had NO intention that only
people with a prior work history of being an elected official
should run for office!

look like a successful political candidate to you?
SHE ACHIEVED MORE RESULTS THAN MANY ELECTED OFFICIALS!
Picture a woman mine worker, hired as a token female employee,
black and dirty with mine dust, ashamed at being touched;
does she look like a successful political candidate to you?
SHE ACHIEVED MORE RESULTS THAN MANY ELECTED OFFICIALS!
